WhatsApp is working on a new Username Feature with Pin Support

WhatsApp Username feature: Whenever you want to communicate with someone on WhatsApp, you need to share your mobile number (registered with WhatsApp) with that person. Sometimes you don’t want to share your number with him but have to share it for smooth communication on WhatsApp but sometimes it disturbs your privacy.

To resolve this issue and establish smooth communication without sharing your mobile number with anyone, WhatsApp is working on a new feature to introduce a username in its upcoming update (2.24.18.2).

WhatsApp new username feature with PIN support

WhatsApp, a Meta-owned messaging platform, is about to launch an advanced username feature to boost the privacy of its users.

Through this feature, you will be able to create a Username on WhatsApp of your choice like other social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), Snapchat, and so on.

Anyone can communicate with you using this username and to enhance privacy, Whatsapp is also introducing a Username PIN.

WhatsApp Username PIN

A username PIN is an added security of your username, without knowing the PIN nobody can message you or you can’t message anyone without entering a username PIN to anyone who is not in your contact list.

Simply WhatsApp’s Username PIN is required to send a message to anyone by searching username on WhatsApp.

Users will be flexible to choose the username PIN of their account and the PIN is of at least 4-digits. If you are sharing your username with anyone instead of a WhatsApp number, you will have to share your username PIN too, so that he/she can easily message you.
