This pair of RAM achieves the perfect balance between performance and price as far as DDR5 RAM is concerned. Make sure it is in the Qualified Vendor List (QVL) of your motherboard. Otherwise, you will not be able to hit XMP II speeds. There is a 2-3 FPS increase on 4K resolution compared to my earlier 4800Mhz CL40 RAM. There is no DRAM, but this SSD can use a large portion of its storage as an SLC Cache. This translates to a third of the drive turning into super-fast storage, so over 300GB can be transferred to the drive without a noticeable drop in performance, provided the temperatures remain under control.
It runs cooler than most other drives, period. There is no need for additional heat sinks, the drive will never go above 50 degrees Celsius when used as a boot drive, and never above 80 degrees Celsius when under constant load.
Because of the low latency, Windows and macOS feel super snappy.
